      ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

CAROL CAIRNS, CPMSM, CPCS
President, Pro-Con Consulting
Ms. Cairns is a senior consultant and frequent presenter with The Greeley Company; she also serves as an information resource and has authored several books on Joint Commission and NCQA standards for HCPro. In 1996, NCQA appointed Carol as a surveyor in its certification program for credentials verification organizations (CVOs). She has been a faculty member and author for the Joint Commission as well as a clinical faculty member for NCQA. Carol also serves as an advisor to healthcare attorneys, as well as providing expert witness testimony regarding credentialing and privileging processes.

CHRISTINE S. MOBLEY

President, C. Mobley & Assoc, LLC
Partner, Edge-U-Cate
Ms. Mobley is a consultant, author and educator, specializing in assessment, development, project management and redesign in areas of credentialing, privileging, medical staff governance, meeting management, and staffing with 25 years combined experience in consulting and in employed positions as director/coordinator of medical staff services. Cris is a Past President of NAMSS, and current faculty member, NCQA CVO surveyor, and author/editor for Aspen Publishers and NAMSS.

Mr. Callahan concentrates his practice in healthcare, assisting clients on a variety of health care legal issues, including health care antitrust, healthcare and HIPAA regulatory compliance, medical staff credentialing, hospital/medical staff relations, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Callahan is a nationally known speaker and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1991.

Ms. Sexson works with national and state associations as well as large healthcare corporations, individual organizations and facilities. Ms. Sexson¡¦s background also includes facilitating training programs for the University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana, Indiana Technical State College. EDUCATIONAL INTENT
Upon completion of this program, participants should understand why privileging and ongoing monitoring of competency are the foundation of quality patient care.

Participants will understand non verbal communication, best ways to approach others, and to accurately gauge their reactions.

Options for complying with new Joint Commission standards on focused professional practice evaluation, ongoing competence assessments and quality assurance profiles will be presented.

Participants will understand the full ramifications of the recent Kadlec decision and the practical ways to mitigate risk in their own facilities.
